How far is M67 from us?

Adjust the value of $m$ in the cluster data so that the plot for the main sequence falls on top of the Hipparcos data. The easiest way to do this is with the Data -> Transformations menu. Select the set that corresponds to the M67 data as both the Input and the Output. This keeps the program from generating a new set each time you make an adjustment. Now apply y=y-2 and the m67 data will move ``up'' 2 magnitudes. Continue shifting it until you get a good match. Keep track of the shifts and find the difference m-M for the cluster M67. This is the distance modulus which gives the distance to the cluster from
\begin{displaymath}
m-M = 5 \log d - 5
\end{displaymath} (1)

where $d$ is in parsecs. How far from us is M67?
