Remote Astronomy for Teachers Astronomy - Physics and Astronomy 595
Professors Kielkopf and Tretter

For more information about what is available this semester, contact one of the instructors. We expect the course to be on the 2008-2009 academic year schedule, and in-service teacher's are encouraged to participate in workshops that will be offered in the summer of 2008.

The course offers topics in astronomy to prepare teachers for local and state content requirements, and features hands-on opportunities to use Internet2 and remotely access telescopes at Moore Observatory near Louisville, and at Mt. Kent Observatory in Australia. Participating teachers will be guided in the use of Internet astronomy resources and supported in the use of our remote telescopes with their students in their own classrooms.
