of Physics & Astronomy
University of Louisville
I am currently a second
year graduate student at the University of Louisville, where I am
working on my Master's degree in Physics. My current research
involves studying QSO absorption lines. My interests are focused
toward astrophysics and cosmology, but this may come to an end soon as
I have accepted a job teaching at a private school in Ohio. Before
coming to Louisville, I spent
four years teaching physics at the high school level near Columbus,
OH. I earned my B.S. in physics from Youngstown
State University, where I learned the skills needed by all good
lab monkeys.
Besides research, I'm currently
working on classes and teaching introductory labs to engineering
students. In my free time (which is disappearing rapidly!), I'm
learning to play guitar, reading and playing games (board, video,
role playing, etc.). Oh, and spending it with my lovely wife and our
family of one fat cat and one ugly dog.
Useful Links that
I've found on the Web
QSO
textbook - Dr. Chris Churchill at NMU has the beginning's of a
very useful QSO textbook. The only one I've found so far.
Intro
to IDL - A pretty decent introduction to programming in IDL
(something I spent time fighting with this past summer).
Physlink.com
- A useful cornucopia of physics related material.
Physics
296 - The homepage for the lab I am currently teaching.
