SWiPA was awarded funds from the the University of Louisville Club Programming Committee (CPC) to help support the 2017 Bullitt Lecture in Astronomy, a free public lecture held every year at our Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium.
This year's Bullitt Lecture speaker is Dr. Candice Hansen, giving her talk titled: "JunoCam: Pictures of Jupiter from a new Perspective." Dr. Hansen was an assistant experiment representative on the Voyager Imaging Team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and was responsible for the development and operation of the JunoCam outreach camera that took astounding pictures of Jupiter. She retired in 2010 and is still very active in the scientific community.
