Description

In this thesis, I present a photometric catalog of ~400k galaxies in the COSMOS survey field (Scoville, 2007) and their estimated redshifts using HyperZ (Bolzonella et al., 2000). I discuss the motivation and context in which survey fields and the catalogs generated from them have served in the modern day research of galaxy evolution. I also discuss the Python package MCC I have developed to generate a master catalog from a set of independent SExtractor searches (Bertin, E. and Arnouts, S., 1996) and its application to the publicly available data in the COSMOS field.
