The Physics & Astronomy Department's Andrew Chamblin Memorial Lecture celebrates the life of Dr. H. Andrew Chamblin, who was Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Louisville until his untimely passing in 2006.

This has been an annual event, held in the latter part of the spring semester as a public talk in the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium. The first lecture was Thursday, April 16, 2009, with a lecture by Frank Wilczek, Nobel Laureate and the Herman Feshbach Professor of Physics at MIT. The second lecture was given April 15, 2010 by Paul Wesson, author of numerous books on cosmology including the recently released "Weaving the Universe".  The third annual lecture was presented Tuesday, April 19, 2011 by Alan H. Guth, the Victor F. Weisskopf Professor of Physics at MIT, author of "The Inflationary Universe."
