[This past semester] I took Dr. Williger's Astronomy (Phys) 107 class. I struggled in this class due to my own lack of effort and interest in this course. When it came time to the final exam, which was transformed into a large cumulative project, I decided to work with a friend who was also taking the class. He and I decided to do the entire project together which included choosing the problems we both thought were easier, Facetiming and working them out together, and then typing our conclusions and responses together. Dr. Williger noticed how similar our work was and had a conversation with the both of us. I inevitably failed this course and have to retake it in the coming semesters. If I would have gone to Dr. Williger and asked for help or received help from tutors all along, this problem could have easily been avoided. Cheating or working together on a final exam or any individual work results in more serious consequences after high school. My F in this class not only forces me to retake the course but cost me money and time. This incident was noted and is on record with the University. If this were to happen again, my consequences will be far worse. I highly recommend speaking to the professor or seeking help from tutors throughout this course to avoid any issues like mine. He is a very understanding teacher who only wants to educate and see students succeed.
