Mortar  Board is the national senior honorary celebrating students excelling
in scholarship, leadership and service.  The national site is here.
Since its establishment in 1918, around a quarter of a million members have been initiated at over 200 chartered chapters across the nation.
The Pallas Chapter has over 1500 alumni dating back to 1949, and the chapter has existed as the Pallas Club
since 1932.
Mortar Board provides opportunities for continued leadership
development, promotes service to colleges and universities and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community.  Additionally,
Mortar Board offers numerous benefits and opportunities to members, including career networking, fellowships and awards.

The Pallas Chapter of Mortar Board has a long tradition of encouraging scholarship, leadership
and service at the University of Louisville.  Some of our better-known traditions are
the official University campus planner (from 1979-2010) and flower sales at graduation.  We also have a
history of generating scholarship support for graduate or professional education.

Donate to the Pallas chapter (tax-deductible).

Congratulations to Asst. Advisor Reilly Brown for winning

CONGRATULATIONS TO MORTAR BOARD MEMBER LOUIS CURTIS,  OUR DEC. 2015 Dec 18 COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER!  Here is an excerpt from his commencement address:
"...All of us came to this point in our lives through any enormous variety of paths.  Regardless of the path we took, this is our day to
celebrate our achievements and be rewarded for our hard work.  With this degree, some may be relieved the studying, hard work, and
dedication is over with; another obstacle in life has been overcome. But this leads me to a quote by Alfred Souza.  `For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin --‐ real life.  But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid.  Then life would begin.  At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.'  Iíve always found this quote to be very relatable.  It is saying that there is no better time to be happy than right now.  Happiness isnít a currency that you cash in with the completion of every life event.  Donít wait to be content until you find your career, until you move in to a house, until the end of the work week, until you lose enough weight, until that last final exam is completedÖ which is now!  Be happy in your present, in what you have, in your potential, in your friendships. ...
